Personal Analysis/Rating
When purchasing Netflix, my family and I extremely enjoyed the ability to instantly to watch unlimited amount of movies on our TV and computers; furthermore, we loved receiving our movies by mail and not being charged extra for returning the DVD after so many days. Another pro of having Netflix is the large library of movies that the consumer can choose from and the low price of $8 per month. With the instant Queue, there is a large quantity of TV shows that are always updated for the client, which is relatively helpful when trying to pick up a new show or start a season from the beginning. When comparing Netflix to other companies such as Blockbuster, Netflix defiantly wins the battle considering they offer the ability to watch movies instantly. In addition, the customer can use Netflix on multiple devices such as a game console, their computers and a tablet or on most apple devices that have internet access available.
However, Netflix has their faults because even though the selection of instant movies is huge, the movies tend to be less popular and out of date making the selection limited. Newly released movies take a while to appear in the streaming service, which can become a hassle. In addition, if the client does not keep up with returning and watching their movies promptly, the movie will just sit around the house for long periods. Another con would be that Netflix charges extra for Blu-ray Discs and that HD titles are limited or rarely offered.
Overall, Netflix consumers have been known to use Netflix for watching TV shows primarily instead of actual movies, which has been pushing Netflix to move away from movies and towards TV according to The New York Times. Therefore, Netflix is the most popular streaming video providers because of all the popular service available but the faults must be overlooked for the customer to fully enjoy Netflix.
